Pwnisher’s 2025 Rampage Rally Challange
We created this piece for the Pwnisher "Rampage Rally" challenge, a fantastic project that pushed us to combine multiple techniques into a single, chaotic 5-second animation. The main scene and animation process was done in Blender.

It all starts with a bang. The explosive impact of the rolling barrel was achieved using a rigid body simulation for the debris and a smoke simulation to give it force and volume, creating a dynamic entrance to the scene.
The ending of the animation is the shark's crash into the water. This was done using Blender's FLIP fluids system and Houdini for whitewater. We handled the large-scale fluid movement and generated the whitewater particles—the foam, bubbles, and spray—all within the same simulation to make the splash feel powerful and realistic. To populate the world, we animated the hammerhead shark and the background characters. Their clothing was created in Marvelous Designer for realistic cloth simulation, and all textures, from the wet shark skin to the wooden barrel, were painted in Substance Painter to give everything a tactile, worn feel. This project was a true synthesis of our favorite tools—simulation, texturing, and character animation—all coming together to tell a quick, fun story
